Parents & Grand Parents Sponsorship

In accordance with this programme, you must fill out an interest to sponsor form before you may
seek to sponsor your parents and grandparents to become Canadian permanent residents. For the
Parents and Grandparents Program, two applications are submitted and evaluated if you are invited
to do so:
1. The petition for sponsorship
2.  The petition for permanent residency

If both of your applications are accepted, you’re sign an undertaking that goes into effect on the day the people you’re sponsoring (and any applicable family members) are admitted as permanent residents of Canada. To be qualified to sponsor your parents and grandparents, you must fulfil the Minimum Income Requirement of the most recent tax year as determined by the size of your
household.
 

1.  You must be 18 years old, a permanent resident of Canada or a citizen of Canada,
2.  Fulfil the minimum income criterion, produce tax records, and not fall within the categories
    of in eligible sponsors in order to sponsor someone. Must comply with all other conditions                    outlined in the Immigration and Refugee Protection.

Parents and grandparents eventually get permanent residency and then Canada citizenship too.
Grandparents and parents are welcome to stay for lengthy periods of time even if you are not
invited to apply. Your parents and grandparents may be able to apply for a super visa, which might
allow them to remain in Canada for up to 5 years at a time, if you'd want them to move hereT
